About Azil Rose

The Lotus Flower blooming in muddy ponds will always be the traditional floral depiction of Yoga. However, I was raised in an over-populated city where thorny roses crawl up metal fences and concrete walls, yet still, they share their sweet fragrance and vibrant colors.

As an adolescent, I, Liza (aziL when reflected off a mirror) was said to have the tenacity and resilience of a rose, though I did not fathom what it truly meant until faced with my worst fear, leaving me to make choices that ultimately guided me into finding inner-peace through Yoga, meditation and blogging. Shortly after, while training for a half-marathon I tweaked my knee and like most westerners, I looked to Yoga for help. Expecting to heal a physical injury, what I discovered was enlivening!

Finding balance, letting go and readjusting within each challenging pose required more than just physical strength, but an inner-flexibility and stillness of mind enhanced by the breathe. That stillness followed me off the mat and onto a path of teaching others to find resilience and inner-strength through the practice of Yoga. Hence the name, AziL-Rose.

After years of teaching Yoga, the fitness field peaked my curiosity, diving into a deeper study of body movement. Since, I’ve become a Certified Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor, combining my knowledge of all three, helping transform my students lives.

My goal is to help you find your highest potential (Inner-Guru) using mindful body-awareness to build vigor, strength, flexibility, and a sense of living in the moment, through all forms of movement.
