What do you know about Chakra’s?

Chakras: A Beginner's Guide to the 7 Chakras

Aside from our well known modern medicine with doctors and surgeons, which work physical wonders, chakra’s are energetic free flowing ‘wheels’ located within the body producing spiritual alignment. The Chakra System is considered to be the Spiritual Nervous System, and when one or more of these wheels cease to spin, the blocked or unbalanced energy becomes stagnant, causing health ailments, and us to lose sight of our True Nature. Though there are many, we focus on 7 Major Chakra’s:

1.“I Exist”- LAM Located at the Perineum, Muladhara is considered the root chakra. This grounding Chakra, red in color, represents our ‘roots’-Family, sense of security, survival needs, abundance, and moving forward in life. If blocked it prevents the release of grief, guilt, sadness and prevents from following your destiny.

Psychological symptoms: loneliness, insecurities, unconfident, phobias, obsessions, addictions, indecisiveness, depression.
Physical symptoms: lower back pain, sciatica, impotence, rectal problems, varicose veins, water retention, problems with kidneys, groin, hips, legs knees, calves, and feet.

When healthy and balanced the root chakra allows negative emotions to be released, regenerating confidence. It fosters feelings of security and encourages exploration of your life’s purpose.

2.“I Desire” -VAM At the Pelvic/Sacrum area is Svadisthana, representing creativity, connection to others, sexuality, pleasure and emotions. Orange in color, if blocked you may feel extremely lethargic and unmotivated for life. It can lead to sadness, and mild depression.

Psychological symptoms: eating disorders, addictions, low self-confidence, dependency issues, low libido, and unbalanced emotions.
Physical symptoms:  kidney problems and urinary tract infections, chronic lower back pain, sexual disorders, infertility, dysfunctional menstrual cycles, and problems with the intestines, spleen, and gallbladder.

A balanced sacral chakra allows you to feel energized and confident in all aspects of your life.  Life flows and you’re inspired. People are attracted to your positive energy and opportunities open for you. You are able to live in the moment.

3.“I Can” -RAM By the navel, the Solar Plexus chakra is known as Manipura, the essence of Will Power.  Yellow in color, it is associated with assertion, personal power, inner-strength, and instincts. If blocked
you may feel very stressed and powerless all the time, leaving you mentally and physically exhausted. You may have “gut” feelings but are not sure of what or where they are coming from.

Psychological symptoms: lack of memory and concentration, constant fearfulness, sugar addictions, insomnia, and eating disorders.
Physical symptoms:  indigestion, food allergies, poor metabolism, diabetes, obesity, eczema, acne, and other stress-related skin conditions.

When this chakra is balanced, it allows you to feel relaxed and comfortable in your own skin, and are more aware of your own energy, comfortable in your decisions, and connected to your “gut” feelings.

4.I Love”-YAM Near the heart is the Anahata chakra. Green in color, it experiences love, compassion and intuitiveness, safety, trust, forgiveness, and adventure. If unbalanced, it can lead to a disconnection from the people we love, love for ourselves, and love for the earth, heightened relationship problems, and a tendency to lose hope.

Psychological symptoms: apathetic, faithless, unforgiving, hopeless, distrustful, uncommitted, and detached.
Physical symptoms: pneumonia, asthma, breast problems, respiratory problems, upper-back pain, shoulder and upper-arm pain, and premature aging.

Balancing this chakra enhances the love for self and others.  It allows you to feel compassion, empathy, and forgiveness for others, and reconnects you to the loving world around you and discover a zest for life.

5.“I Express”-HAM Located in the throat, a Blue Hue, Vishudha is connected to expression, communication, truth, reliability, freedom and leadership. If blocked, you may feel you are unable to communicate verbally, physically, and emotionally, creating a host of issues, particularly from subconscious attitudes or trapped feelings unable to surface.  Severe trauma can close this chakra, making it very difficult to express emotion.

Psychological symptoms: nervousness, anxiety, fear, attention deficit disorders, poor coping skills, feeling isolated.
Physical symptoms:  irritated sinuses, sore throat, jaw pain, voice loss, thyroid problems, teeth and gum problems, and ailments of the esophagus and tonsils.

When this chakra is balanced you can express your feelings and communicate freely, without worry of judgment from self or others.  It promotes honesty and harmony with our feelings and actions, and helps us to live more authentically.

6.“I Am the Witness”-AUM-At the Forehead, between your eyes, the ‘Third Eye’ Ajna has the ability to see ‘Truth’ in the World. Indigo or deep purple in color, it represents wisdom, intuition, imagination, dreams and psychic abilities. If blocked, we may feel overwhelmed with our own thoughts, unable to process them and may feel stuck in in an intellectual rut, making poor decisions. We become closed to new ideas and fall off the path of our true destiny.

Psychological symptoms: headaches and migraines, nightmares, seizures, neurological disorders, personality disorders and neuroses, learning difficulties, and hallucinations.
Physical symptoms: eye problems, glaucoma, hearing difficulties, spinal conditions, and scalp/hair issues.

Balancing this chakra promotes clarity, inspiration, and innovation.  It allows us to follow our dreams and enhances our innate psychic abilities and spiritual connections. It helps understand the timeline of our own lives, helping us to learn from our past, be present in the now, and achieve our future plans.

7.“I Am that I Am”ANG  Above the crown of your head, the ‘halo’ Sahasrara represents higher consciousness, pure unconditional love and being. Violet, or white in color it is known to enliven the upper brain, connecting to Spirit/God, divine wisdom, connection to the universe, imagination, awareness, and optimism.  When unbalanced we feel we are living without any direction or purpose.  If there are many physical ailments that seem to reoccur without a root trigger or cause, it is likely to be an out of balance crown chakra, as this chakra is your entire being.

Psychological symptoms: depression, confusion, loss of faith, mentally disconnected, dementia, epilepsy, schizophrenia.
Physical symptoms: light sensitivity, headaches, dementia, autoimmune disorders, neurological disorders, our entire mental, physical, and spiritual health.

Balancing the crown chakra is essential for a deep, spiritual connection within ourselves, the universe, and God. When the energy is free flowing, it creates positive energy, and the ability to maintain it.

*Our chakras are influenced by everything we do and consequently, naturally, are in a constant state of flux.  From small stresses, minor illnesses and fast paced lifestyles, we work on unblocking stuck energy by working with crystals and gemstones, colors, sound frequencies, aroma’s, mantra’s, meditation, pranayama and various yoga poses*
